Elliott Jacobson, MBA, FCPA, FCA, ICD.DA

 Elliott has completed over 45 years in public accounting and related activities. He has served a wide range of clients from Canadian corporations to multinational organizations. Elliott led the public company audit practice for Mintz & Partners LLP (a major regional accounting firm) from 1989 to 2008. In 2008, Deloitte & Touche acquired the public auditing practice of Mintz & Partners, and Elliott continued to lead the audit practice for entrepreneurial public companies in the Greater Toronto Area for Deloitte. In 2010, Elliott retired from the partnership of Deloitte. 

During his time in practice, he also worked extensively with many clients in developing and supporting their strategic plans, including expansion of ownership and growth by acquisition.

Elliott participated in original listings (via IPOs or reverse takeovers) on the TMX, AIM (London), Swiss Stock Exchange, various U.S. stock exchanges, and the TSX-Venture Exchange. These listings included more than 150 new public companies with business operations in Canada, the United States, Israel, Taiwan, and China. Elliott also led the market development for Israeli, U.S., Taiwanese, and Chinese companies listing on the TMX and TSX-V exchanges.

Elliott has been active working with many companies in evaluating strategic alternatives for ownership, and in facilitating successful ownership transition.

He provided audit expert services in a number of litigation situations, both as plaintiff and defence expert. He has also reported on internal control matters as part of several fraud investigations.

In 2012, Elliott received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for Community Service, to honour his work with Liver Canada (then called the Canadian Liver Foundation).

In 2013, Elliott was elected as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.
